Between the UV exposure, the triple-digit heat, and hard water that wears down equipment faster than almost anywhere else in the country, a Phoenix pool needs more than an occasional once-over. It needs a team that shows up on schedule, tells you the truth about what’s actually wrong, and fixes it right the first time. That’s the whole reason Captain Pools exists.

Our Story

Captain Pools has been cleaning, repairing, and servicing pools across the Phoenix Valley since 2008. What started as a small, hands-on operation out of Tempe has grown into a trusted name across the Valley, but the approach hasn’t changed. We still believe a pool company should do three things well: show up when we say we will, diagnose problems honestly before recommending a fix, and charge a fair price for real work. Eighteen-plus years of Valley pools means we’ve seen almost every way heat, hard water, and monsoon debris can wreck a pool, and we’ve learned that most of it is preventable with consistent, no-shortcuts maintenance.

How We Work

Every weekly visit follows the same routine, whether your pool looks fine or not, because the problems that turn into algae blooms and cloudy water start well before you can see them. Skimming, brushing, vacuuming, basket cleaning, and on-site water testing and balancing, every time, on a schedule you can count on. When something breaks, we diagnose before we quote. Pumps, heaters, salt chlorine generators, and automation systems all fail in predictable ways after years of Arizona heat and hard water, we’ve learned to tell the difference between something that’s actually failed and something that’s just strained. That distinction is what keeps a small repair bill from turning into a full equipment replacement.

Back in January of this year, I had Captain Pools change out my old sand filter for a cartridge type filter and they did a very good job with that. Over the last couple of months though, I had noticed that the union fitting on top of the pump was leaking a little water during pump operation. Although I don't like ANY leaks, I kept putting it off. Several days ago I called Captain Pools and asked them if they could look at it. Anyway, they arrived today and discovered the fitting was just a little loose so it ended up being a very quick fix. I'm glad they were able to respond quickly to my request, diagnose the issue and fix the problem. I'll continue to use Captain Pools in the future for any problems that arise, and recommend their services for any pool work.

We have used Captain Pools for approximately 6 years, in addition to having them do a full refresh (decking, removal of an old water feature and adding pebble stone). We have been very happy with their service, their communications (i.e. if our technician is out sick or delayed, we are notified) and their fairness. Today we had out cartridge filters cleaned by Scott! Wow! Living in this dusty desert really takes a toll on mostly everything. Scott did an awesome job!
